Counseling can be helpful to you. Apart from seeking help through direct counseling services you can actually seek immediate help through various help lines supported by different government and non-government agencies. Some of these are as follows:

 

1.     If you are an adolescent, parent or teacher you can seek help for your concerns through this helpline by YUVA Help-line toll free number 1800-11-68888.

 

These help-line runs from 7:30 am to 7 pm on all working days and you can talk about various issues ranging from examination stress to resolving worries about relationship with others.

 

Teachers and parents can also gain support through this help-line.

 

2.     There are also organizations like Men Against Violence and Abuse (MAVA),  which runs Yuva Maitri Helpline  (Number: 022-26826062) for youths across Mumbai. It provides services to distressed youths on problems, anxieties and dilemmas faced on matters of Relationship, Sexuality and Violence.

 

3.     If you are depressed and need to talk to someone for your loneliness then another organization named ASRA provides 24x7 help-line 91-22-27546669 to help people in despair.

 

A list of other help-lines can be found at the website of Youth Reach dealing with various issues like emotional stress, medical help, children, AIDS/HIV, de-addiction, sexuality, etc.

 

As an adolescent you may need help if you are experiencing the condition mentioned below:

 

1.     I had unprotected sex last night and I think I might get pregnant.

 

2.     Somebody, whose name I don’t want to mention, always tries to touch me and I don’t feel good about it.

 

3.     I am a boy and I feel more attracted towards boys than to girls but I don’t know whom I can trust to talk about it.

 

4.     I am a girl and I like my girlfriend or maybe I love her. I want to know what this feeling is.

 

5.     I sometimes feel like killing myself.
