No. The “morning-after pill,” more accurately called emergency contraception. When taken within 72 hours after unprotected intercourse, emergency contraception can prevent pregnancy, but it has no effect on an established pregnancy.  The “abortion pill,” is used for medical abortion, which is a combination of two medications, mifepristone and misoprostol or RU-486.
