Taking contraceptive pills would cause a woman to produce deformed babies.

This myth persists because of the mild side effects (nausea, dizziness, vomiting, irregular periods) of the oral pills in many women.  Contraceptive pills only contain synthetic female hormones (progesterone and estrogen or derivatives), and no other chemical or pharmaceutical substance that can affect the baby in the long run. It contains such a low dose of hormones that as soon as it is stopped, fertility returns immediately.  The baby would be absolutely normal.
