My child always prefers to be alone. Is there anything wrong?

During the stages of growing up of a child he/she goes through different physical and emotional changes. Generally we have found that the conventional society lacks proper channel of communication to inform young people about these changes. The traditional value system inhibits young people from seeking answer to these concerns. Under such circumstances, many young people develop the feeling of shame, guilt and that they are the only one going through these kind of changes. This could reflect in the form of loneliness in the child. In such a situation it becomes necessary for a parent to take initiative to openly discuss on the concerns with the child. You can also seek help with trained counselor if needed.
